Born in Washington, DC, Sofía Campoamor first started writing songs to make school projects more fun. This lighthearted approach to academics led her to study music at Yale University, where she composed everything from a cappella arrangements to podcast theme songs, and performed around the world as the first woman member of the Whiffenpoofs. Campoamor now writes, records, and performs original indie folk in Brooklyn, and sings as a cantor and section leader with the Oratory Choir of St. Boniface. She is a community music facilitator at Gaia Music Collective, hosting collaborative open mics, songwriting circles, and one-day choirs. Her debut album "if you knew, i couldn't tell" blends dreamy acoustic soundscapes with biting vulnerability in tales of love, longing, and friendship; her second project, “with all the lights on,” delves into an exploration of the body through themes of mortality, chronic illness, queerness, and intimacy.
